Haul Time

Hello lovelies! I am so sorry I have been gone for so long, I have been so busy with school. The semester is ending so I have loads of papers to write.  I have recently been shopping and I picked up a few things.

I have been dying to find a few good pairs of Legwarmers. I am quite obsessed! Tights as well, they complete an outfit so well!

Cable knit is very in this season as we all know, why not rock it with legwarmers to keep you warm on those cold fall/winter days? Also "seasonal colored" tights are in. I love these mustard yellow tights, I have been looking for a good pair for a while. I am glad I found them at a great price

I purchased everything at Fall/winter Essentials

What is your must have fall/winter accessory?

My costume for Halloween

Hello lovelies I just wanted to make a quick blog about what I will be for Halloween. It is right around the corner and I thought it would be a good time to share what I plan to be! It took me quite a while to come up with a costume idea and when I finally thought of a good idea.

I plan to be a DEAD DOLL.

I thought it was a brilliant idea.
1.  I have a good supply of makeup to choose from.
2.  I have girly clothing. * I used a poofy party dress from Forever21
3. Makeup +Dressing up=me in my comfort zone

After deciding what I wanted to be I googled "dead doll" in YouTube...I found this video. I am subscribed to her as well. I do not know how I missed this tutorial!

Now my question to you is. What do you plan to dress up as for Halloween?

Apple Orchard Punch: The delicious drink
Ingredients:

  • 1 (32 fluid ounce) bottle apple juice, chilled
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen cranberry juice concentrate
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 1/2 liters ginger ale
  • 1 apple

  • Directions:
  • 1.  In a large punch bowl, combine apple juice, cranberry juice concentrate and orange juice. Stir until dissolved, then slowly pour in the ginger ale.
  • 2.  Thinly slice the apple vertically, forming whole apple slices. Float apple slices on top of punch.

What is your favorite fall or holiday drink?

My Love For Red Lips

I am addicted to red lipstick for fall 2011.  I have tried many drugstore lip colors and I must say Red Rival from the Maybelline Color Sensational line is out of this world!  You do not need to prime your lips or anything, put aside the lip liner ladies, this one is perfect for the ladies who want to hurry out the door in 5 minutes. I know red lips are very bold, but I know everyone can pull this look off.
TIPS:

  1. I would suggest putting just one coat on at first to see how deep of a red you are looking for
  2. I have found that by doing one coat and lightly dabbing my lips with a napkin. It lightens up the color and makes it more wearable during the day.
  3. Use a makeup brush to have a better handle on how much product you are using.
  4. Dark lips means light makeup. Skip the bold eyes and go for a more natural look. Eyeliner and mascara,if you want some eyeshadow look for a beige eyeshadow.

Hot Chocolate Time: Ways to spice up your ordinary hot chocolate

Hey everyone! As the season goes on and the days get colder I say it is time to bring out the hot chocolate.  Now who doesn't like a nice warm cup for hot coco on a cold fall day?  There are so many ways to spice up hot chocolate.  Just plain old pre-made hot chocolate can be very boring.  Here are some fun tips on how I mix up my hot chocolate routine.

  1. Use milk instead of water: *Although the pre-made-chocolate mix says add water, for a richer tasting hot chocolate experience add milk, low fat milk is great too if you do not want all the calories.
  2. Put it on the stove instead of in the microwave:*I have found by doing so, the chocolate mixture dissolves better
  3. Put some whipped cream on the top for a nice creamy touch: *you can also mix some whipped cream onto the stove while making your hot chocolate to give it a nice creamy taste*
  4. Drop some peppermint candies in the bottom of the cup:*This will give a nice minty flavor to the drink.  If you love mint I would definitely try this, crushed candy canes work wonders as well!*
  5. Cinnamon works great with hot chocolate, put it on top of the whipped cream and you have a nice fresh topping.
  6. Adding a cinnamon stick: *by adding this, it gives it a great taste without using the powder, stirring a cinnamon stick into hot chocolate just looks delightful and gives the hot chocolate a great taste.*
  7. Lastly, a classic topping would have to be adding some marshmallows:* you can add large marshmallows, or mini ones.*
There are so many different ways to make hot chocolate, by just playing around with the different toppings you will soon discover, your favorite way to drink this delicious drink. Don't be afraid to try something new!!!

What is your favorite way to make hot chocolate?

The Fun Life of Baking: Jack'O Lantern Cake

I know Halloween is just around the corner, and it can be a very exciting time.  I was rummaging around https://recipe.bettycrocker.com and found this really cute Jack'O Lantern Cake recipe.  This could be very ideal for a Halloween party, even for Thanksgiving!  I think this would be very fun to make with kids as well for a fun activity to get them in the kitchen. This might take a while to make, but I think the end result would be adorable.
